"Sapporo IT Carrozzeria" aims at making the products of IT industries in Hokkaido from "invisible and intangible software" to "visible and tangible prototype." Making full use of industrial design methods and high quality of embedding technology to produce such prototypes can boost Hokkaido's IT prototypes to world-class. Creating a manufacturing base with high level of such added values is the ultimate objective of this initiative.

- Completion of a "Manufacturing Platform" -» Foundational Research
In foundational research, the completion of a "Manufacturing Platform" will be aimed for, remaining issues will be handled, and sub-themes of high importance will be concentrated on, along with verifications of the reliability of the system coordination that lies between foundational research activities.
- Accumulation of Product Development Results -» Applied Research
In applied research, efforts will be made in the prompt creation and application for business of prototypes that are coordinated with foundational research, along with the development of new products that are to be manufactured as a result of needs in the user industry.
- Coordination between Research Activities
Experimental studies of the "Manufacturing Platform" that was built through foundational research are to be selectively conducted, and in order to apply the platform to the core business entity of Sapporo IT Carrozzeria, action plans such as transfers of technology that have been obtained from regional corporations, which are a central factor, will be selectively implemented. In the promotion of efficiency and coordination, project management functions will be implemented, research and development for developing new products will be accelerated, and the prompt creation of prototypes that apply the platform will be aimed at.

- The Establishment of the Core Business Entity and the Succession of this Project
On the core business entity which is scheduled to be established in October 2006, investigations will be conducted by the investigative commission for commercialization. Aside from the relationship between the core business entity and Hokkaido's key industries, on regional cooperation (including international cooperation) concerning the elemental technology of the manufacturing sector that is lacking in the Sapporo area, the creating of a scheme that can be implemented will be aimed for.
- Coordination and Collaboration with the Industrial Cluster Project
In order to apply the findings to business, transfers will be made to the various enterprises of the concerned ministries and a system that can correspond to the needs of the user industry will be prepared, along with the creating of plans for the accumulation, administration, and application of intellectual properties.
- HR Development
The developing of human resources that can succeed the findings of intellectual cluster formation projects and maintain and expand on the inter-corporate, inter-collegiate, and inter-corporate/collegiate networks is to be planned. HR development and transfers of technology for the planning of the continual expansion of usability and design is to be promoted year after year.
